Doubt about the download in "Master" quality of the last week. #527

Which tool

When downloading some songs in "master" quality that have been published in the last week, the file is not in 24 bits but is in 16 bits but if it has the tags that an MQA file must have, unlike the tracks published more than a week than if they are downloaded in 24 bits.

Has anyone noticed this? Had to update the tidal api?

It has to be a deal with Tidal's library refreshing. They've uploaded many masters last few weeks in 16/44. So no bother about the downloader

Thank you very much, I assumed that was it, but it seemed strange to me that it was mqa in 16 bits.

Hold on, so even though the files are listed as MQA they are actually just 16 bit FLAC? Are you sure this isn't an issue with the dl? When did Tidal make this change?

Actually I'm not sure it's not tida-dl's problem. I can't think of any way to check, but this started about two weeks ago.

Then what's the difference between HiFi and Master if both are 16bit 44.1kHz ?
