[QUESTION] tidal account banned, no solution found #741

My tidal account is banned :(

It was banned after using tidal GUI. does anyone know how to get around this ban? I saw that there is a proxy setting in tidal gui, would that prevent this?

when i open tidal gui with the verification code, the tidal web page opens with "bani account, you are using your account with a suspicious download"

I specify that even if I use a vpn, I cannot connect to my tidal account. Thanks for your ideas or have you ever had this problem?

mmmm, it looks like the same situation with spotify, which is banning accounts when using downloaders This is due to some algorithm that they are implementing, it must be similar to the algorithm that online games use when using cheats. I recommend using a different account and not the main one.

fabriguzden commented 2 years ago

like me, because I don't use my main account for DL

fabriguzden commented 2 years ago

I hope they do not end up banning IPs or you the same device where you login with downloaders when obtaining the access token xd 😢

The irony is (AFAIK) you can't use Tidal without a paid account anyway - so even using downloaders they're making money.

Thank you for your answers !

So ..., no real solution for my concern then :( It may happen again if tial gui remains as it is: be spotted as a file downloader ...

So indeed, my ip is also banned, in addition to the account itself! But I'm not using a paid tidal account: just a trial offer.

So I will see when I create a new tidal account with a new ip ... and I will use tidal gui again, crossing my fingers!

Not sure if anyone else will find this but I might as well post my experience here.

  1. Signed up for student account years ago, never used it.
  2. Came back about 9 months later, still student. Had to verify again.
  3. SheerID wouldn't work so I sent them my documents.
  4. They couldn't approve the document.
  5. Sent it again and they approved it this time.
  6. Tried to set up subscription "Sorry an error occurred, please contact support"
  7. Contacted support
  8. Whilst waiting for support they log me out.
  9. Tried logging back in "Invalid username or password"...
  10. Got a password reset link to email
  11. "An error occurred resetting your password"
  12. Emailed support again and told them I now lost full access of my account.

This is literally the worst experience I've had so far with a streaming service, maybe even any service in years.

The only thing I can also confirm is that I block dd.tidal.com because I block Datadome everywhere. I've blocked it forever though and it didn't stop me logging in or using Tidal previously. Though I read that Datadome can flag people's accounts for any and all reasons and block them. I also don't use a VPN or a junk email address, but my school email...

I thought after these guys got bought by some Norwegian company things would maybe get better. I dropped them years ago when they dropped crossfade as a feature for literally NO reason whatsoever. Looks like I won't be coming back. If this was Spotify, Apple or Amazon, I'd literally have been verified in 5 seconds automatically with zero issues.

If you're reading this and having problems my advice is just don't bother. Go with Amazon or Apple if you absolutely need Hi-Fi lossless music, otherwise just go with Spotify. This is so totally not worth the fuss at all.
