Failed to checkout source code from svn

I have read the FAQ; this issue is not mentioned there.

The following steps will reproduce the problem:
    $ cd projects
    $ svn checkout http://puttycyg.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ puttycyg-read-only

This is what happens:
    svn: REPORT of '/svn/!svn/vcc/default': Could not read status line: connection was closed by server (http://puttycyg.googlecode.com)

PutTTYcyg version: not-applicable
Cygwin version: 1.7.x
Windows version: Windows7

I do not have any firewall software installed.

This isn't a bug in the PuTTYcyg software.  Either there is/was a problem with 
googlecode.com or something is wrong with your svn client.  Either way, it 
seems to be working fine for me now.  If you're still having problems, try 
another svn client.
