Code style clean-up #2

No offence, but you only need one var statement per function (I see
something around 50) and the code style could use a little cleaning up. If
you need help, I'll make an example fix for if requested.

I second this. I started to do a refactor of it after much sulking and overall
disgust, then was even unable to get the original to run. "object expected"
