In case a GPS signal is lost, it'd be nice to have a way to configure whether
the announcements should be repeated and how often. Sometimes while riding a
bike, it's easy to miss an announcement.
Perhaps a vibration alert, in addition to the voice announcement?.
As to how to detect GPS singla loss, I'd like to specify how many seconds since
the last GPS fix. This could also rely on the history (running average of
frequency of past N fixes) to detect any anomaly. The point is to announce
sooner rather than later.
