Thank you! To be able to generate an MT7 which would be almost identical to the one extracted I would need to understand all the parts in the format, which is currently not the case. I think an easier - at least as a first step - to implement approach would be to extract just the needed parts and replace them in the original MT7, as SiZ's tool does, what do you think?
That was another idea. Considering both .MT7/.MT5/.PKF/.PKS are actually file cabinets with the actual (*.HM7 it was?) model and texture files, extract those and do the conversion on these.
I'd like to be able to edit MT7 models in particular (Both from XBOX and Dreamcast), but in order to do so, I think the tools should be able to dump and read files from/to a common 3D format. I'm naming 3DS, SMD or OBJ just to put some examples. In both cases, the user should be required to dump the textures with your/SiZ's tool so the 3D application can show both model and textures.
(You probably don't have time to do an actual Maxscript script or similar).
