Can we get some breadcrumbs? I think this would be helpful. #23

would you want to use a plug-in for this. maybe: http://wordpress.org/plugins/breadcrumb-navxt/developers/

ycb commented 11 years ago

That looks pretty good…but we prefer to build things into our themes rather than use a plugin, whenever possible.

This is cool…but probably too much code for a simple task: http://dimox.net/wordpress-breadcrumbs-without-a-plugin/

This looks better: http://wpguru.co.za/navigation/easy-wordpress-breadcrumbs/

My local does not have a Home link as per the screenshot. Let's review in person today.

ycb commented 11 years ago

Also looks like this is missing from the repo - please republish.

here's the commit https://github.com/ycb/AAF/commit/0291421697c6e06cc3a7d3af633cdf4cae179c6a this is not missing from the repo.

Home link does not appear on stage. This only ever worked on your local -- now needs investigation and a fix.

Turn permalinks on, please.

highvoltag3 commented 11 years ago

@ycb I've turned this on, and that doesn't seem to be the issue, I double checked the code and all if fine. My only explanation is that using http://localhost/ is breaking this, so by the time we put a domain to the site and a real domain in there it should start working.

The other explanation could be that the theme is not being uploaded right and hence it is not finding the right path to /language inside AAF theme. I logged into the server and it's a real mess of old folder and aaf folders inside aaf folder but because I don't know if there's a reason behind this I don't want to touch it. Please do advice.

i've uploaded the current version of the theme from my local. there's no reason to think folders in the themes directory is the cause of any problem. this custom breadcrumbs solution has not been verified working anywhere besides your local. we could easily have used a plugin. not sure what to say except this needs to get done correctly, and as quickly as possible. i'm more concerned with some of the other urgent issues, such as the unproofed slider (where again we could have used a plugin).

highvoltag3 commented 11 years ago

As a matter of fact that was the issue, update the live site it is now working..

ycb commented 11 years ago

Hold up -- looks like this is now working. Hooray!

@ycb That was the issue... So your comment comes kinda harsh, I understand you might be stressed but it was not on me. If you think plugins were the solution you were welcome to implement them or suggest the use of those instead of custom code.

ycb commented 11 years ago

No harsh intention. Just trying to get this site done according to the deadline we are all aware of. Given the state of the stage which I'm supposed to demo today…I can't help but feel a little stressed. I'd really appreciate your help in meeting our goal.

My concern about the slides is based in reality, as the major home page feature is not ready.
