Publications list - alpha order problem #208

Open KraigBinkowski opened 4 years ago

KraigBinkowski commented 4 years ago

The publications list display which is supposed to be in alphabetical order by author’s last name, has errors in the ordering. Books with no named author in the constituent field of the bib module are defaulting to some other field for ordering. This default should be to title if no Author is present. I have attached an example – B1985.10.1, Clausen’s Schoolgirls.
Publications:

Susan P. @KraigBinkowski initially raised this issue 5/20, with group discussion 5/21

Seems to be an issue with coboat logic

Pub sorting now - Alpha Sort (AS) seems to be a sorted instance of displayActorInRole (dAIR) AS/dAIR is usually the author AS/dAIR is sometimes Publisher - ex Oklahoma City Museum of Art AS/dAIR is sometimes missing->Unknown->blacklight sorts to end

resolution? AS/dAIR needs to be title when not author (semantically odd) question keep dAIR = publisher while AS = title ? unknown should be finding the title (ex. Sotheby’s, Country Life) As/dAIR as publisher should almost never occur

for @edgartdata to work out with David Parsell.

@KraigBinkowski A few questions for you following up on this:

edgartdata commented 4 years ago
  1. yes
  2. yes keep publishers in citations, not in sorting logic
  3. yes keep them within the other citations

@edgartdata to work on this David to change the sorting logic in COBOAT
