Recent acquisitions #399

It is customary for museums to highlight their recent acquisitions in some way in their websites/online catalogs. I am attaching a list of examples compiled by my New Haven Promise intern: How Museums show New Aquisitions.pptx

The scope recent acquisitions would include works recently (in the last year) acquired by the YCBA, not records newly released to the online catalog.

For TMS objects, we publish their years of acquisition to our LIDO XML. @flapka Is there similar data for RBM? If not, are there other options for RBM to identify works recently acquired?

Looking at the new acquisitions compilation, it appears other museums have placed them in what would be our main website (Britishart.yale.edu). Would we think not only of leveraging the acquisition event date in the collections.britishart.yale.edu (and RBM equivalent), but also putting something that is more than what is already in the exhibitions and programs in the menu of the main site?

In RBM, date of acquisition has not been recorded in a machine-actionable manner. But I can envision one or two methods* for doing so going forward. And since new acquisitions have been much fewer in number since 2020, it would not be onerous to implement this data for the last year or two.
