Is there going to be any new version sometime soon?

Timocop commented 7 years ago

No, check the forks of other people.

It’s been six years since the first commit of Confuser, and I’ve been developing ConfuserEx for 2 years. However, due to various reasons, I decided to discontinue the ConfuserEx project today. Version 1.0 would be the last official version released by me. I might still add some fix occasionally, however no major change or addition would happen. If someone would like to take over the project, please feel to fork it and inform me about it.

If you need to obfuscate .NET applications, I suggest some alternatives of ConfuserEx:

Disclaimer: I have not fully test the above obfuscators, so use them at your own risk. If you found ConfuserEx is still working and suitable for your application, feel free to stay with it. Anyways, thanks for all the supports!

Other forks are dead though. The most recent has a comit from 2 month ago and literally all commits have not added anything new to it nor fixed any serious bug, only small (and most of the time cosmetic) changes.

MichaelRumpler commented 7 years ago

Fork it yourself then you can commit changes there.

Im giving this a shoot: https://github.com/0xFireball/ModPhuserEx as it seams most of the pull requests are merged at that project... if the owned decides to release minor fixes as he have said it is only for himself as i understand he won't be even accepting any contribution "pull requests" from other people the two projects that i looked at was the one above and https://github.com/CubeCoders/ConfuserEx-Reborn

however reborn seems to not be updated i'm not sure though.

Also there is really no other alternative out there that is this well build in my opinion its sad that it has an unstable future.

Symbai commented 7 years ago

That was my post about. The Reborn is dead... and all other forks have only very small commits/fixes/changes.

There is no one that is actively working on a new version with new features or big improvements. Only hundred of more or less dead forks.
