commx commented 10 years ago

Hi,

i wrote a cross platform updater application which shall run under Windows and Mac OS X.

More information on this can be found here: http://blog.ydns.eu/2014/10/beta-graphical-updater-client.html

Best regards, Christian

Thanks for quick update but how i update the domain it update only host?

commx commented 10 years ago

You can't update a domain (which groups hosts). The updater is designed to update a single host (for example: xxxx.ydns.eu). I don't see any reason why someone should update a domain?

I have a domain register with some 3rd party and i want to host website on my desktop which use to have dynamic IP fro blog i added ydns name server to my domain controller but not getting how to update my IP address for domain on yDNS

To be able to do that, you must be able to add records to your domain at your domain registrar's control panel. Here's a small step-by-step list what you have to do to get that working:

  1. Login to YDNS
  2. Create a Host if you haven't done yet
  3. Create a CNAME record on the domain you'd like to use to reach your desktop computer. The value must be your YDNS hostname that you have created in step 2
  4. Wait until changes are live - this may take up to 48 hours, depending on the TTL of your domain entries
  5. Update the YDNS host using the updater
