This app is initially used to check the data balance of my mobile data. This can be evolved into some other areas in the future like checking account balance, etc.
I noticed that the check was not made around 20:00h. Noticed this around 00:45h. So I just opened the app to see what is the last checked time. As soon as I opened the app, the request was sent and the reply received.
I think the alarm was not set properly. Could not remember whether I rebooted the device after the last check. Have to do a proper test both with and without a reboot. Will update the issue with those results.
Did not reboot ghe device. But still the scheduled check did not happen till I open the app. Might also be an issue on Android 8 platform since this issue showed up after fhe OS update.
