Hello, same here. Used the web exploit to access HBL - From there I can also load other stuff like retroarch emulators/doom etc... But everytime I try to launch menuhax I get red screen a the bottom, sometimes I also have a little stripe on the left upper screen (Dunno if this matters). I'm on 9.5.0-22E with browser 1.7567. Old3ds is complety wiped , also formated the sd card (also used another) the only thing on the sd is boot.3dsx on root and 3ds folder with menuhax folder in it. Did the wipe thing in the browser and also theme creation files when selecting theme in home menu. Also tried older menuhax version but as soon as I lauch them I get config error message. With starter pack also the same issue.
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Exactly the same problem... I've a OLD 3DS XL with 10.5.30E and it's hax payload >=v2.8. (That's because in another issue like these, It was said about check the value for the hax payload, displayed during hax payload boot).
PD: Sorry about my english, I'm spanish and I trying to found a solution for this problem...
Just keep retrying with running menuhax_manager, besides that dunno.
Exactly same problem here. I tried quite a big number of time and only had red and black screens. When trying with older versions (v3.1 and v3.0), at least I see some activity, but ending with error asking to update menuhax_manager. I have old 3DSXL with 9.2 firmware
With <v11.1 you could try renaming SD "/3ds/menuhax_manager/menuhax_manager.xml".
Hello, I managed to get it working. But now I'm not really sure how I made it. At first when I tired again it didn't work. Then I restarted the o3ds again. Then I had a present to open on the 3ds home menu. I guess the 3ds made an update or I had to wait that all the beginning email notification + present appears on the home menu, in order to make menuhax work ? (By the way the present was anime channel). Can somebody try this too ? If this doesn't work I also downloaded from internet another menuhax folder which had more files in it but i think that those files are just form theme purpose.
I also got the red screen and I got it working by (BTW, I have SysNAND 9.2):
In the 3ds home menu, open the theme manager and select any theme - then select "No theme" which will create the files necessary for it to modify.
Use version 3.1 first and get the version mismatch error inside the home brew screen. Eject the SD card and then put version 3.2 on.
Launch it and now it should work. Good luck!
@neovspec your trick worked, thanks a lot!
Hello everybody. I have this exact same problem when trying to upgrade my rxtools to luma. I am on Sysnand 9.2 o3ds. I've tried @neovspec trick but to no avail. After long period of desperation, I find an alternative way to install menuhax; by booting to Sysnand in RX Mode (holding L button while booting RX Tools and select it). At there I can use FBI (health safety inject) to install homebrew launcher cia and launch it (still in RX Mode), and then I can launch menuhax manager 3.2 and install it flawlessly. I hope this helps.
edit: it seems that I unable to go into menuhax manager straight from boot. I must go into patched Sysnand of Luma (holding L while selecting Luma in CTRBootManager) and run HBLoader.cia from there. I think I can live with this for a while.
Hi guys, Just want to say that I had the same issue as OP (o3ds XL w/ sysnand 9.2) - I used mwbrave14's suggestion to install the homebrew launcher cia via RXmode in sysnand (rxtools 2.6 + Fbi cia installer) afterwhich i then installed menuhax_manger 3.2 via the newly created homebrew launcher (also in RXmode) I then replaced the homebrew launcher's boot file with luma3ds's boot file (don't forget the arm9loaderhax.bin file in root of SD) and voila! cold booting luma3ds now! thanks @mwbrave14 for the suggestion :D
I just want to help anyone who is having this problem. The post by neovspec is all I had to work with because I couldnt find any other solutions. After hours of attempting multiple things I came back to the post and went through it step by step. Still did not work. Then I thought of something. When neovspec said "eject the sd card and put 3.2 on" I thought I was supposed to power off the 3DS first. Some how doing it while the homebrew menu was running did it work.
So for anyone having troubles do this: 1.In the 3ds home menu, open the theme manager to create the files 2.Launch the Homebrew 3.Launch Menuhax 3.1 (it will give you and error. Once its done, press start to return) 4.While still in the homebrew menu, eject the SD card. DO NOT POWER OFF 5.Transfer 3.2 on the SD card, replacing the 2 files 6.Put the SD card back into the 3DS and launch Menuhax 3.2
You should have it working from here. This worked for me on Old3DS 9.2.0-20U
@rasco13 Thanks! I was having the red screen problem on 3.2, with your guide I was able to reinstall menuhax.
@rasco13 How can I launch menuhax 3.1? Homebrew menu just show 3.2
@GuiuGaldino You have to replace the 3.2 files with the old 3.1 files which you can find on here. It will launch but it will give you an error because it checks for the latest version that it should be on.
@rasco13 i know it's a little late, but i have this same problem with the red screen when trying to install the 3.2 version, i tried to follow your steps, but the problem is, step 6 is not working, when i put back the sd, it dont show any files on the homebrew. Do you know what could be the problem?
When attempting to launch Menuhax Manager 3.2 from Homebrew Launcher, it just sits at a red screen, and does nothing. I can't seem to get past it, not matter what files I add to root.
Am I missing something?
