"old 3ds" "N3DS" .....
ah didnt notice that, should i use the POST file isntead? I tried the POST5 file and it came up with an error but other than that nothing changed
I believe the file you need is the POST5_E_24576_9221. Iirc the 25600 file is for firmware 11.1 and 11.2
The easy way to check is use smealum.github.io/3ds/ and put in your system type/firmware version and see what the download file name is. The raw save images should match the name of the ropbin/otherapp download that is generated.
I've done this for the New 3ds and am using the same file that the ropbin download gives me for my firmware (11.2.0-35U) which is N3DS_U_11272_8203.bin and it just states the same thing then doesn't do anything for about 30 seconds before crashing back to the home screen, and I'm also using the current starterkit with this.
if you're trying to use this with the 2.8 payload, it's not going to work. These saves aren't updated for that. You'll need ot use the 2.7 payload until you can get into 2.8 another way (soundhax/online in-game update of basehax), at which point you can use the oothax installer to install the proper save (ironically the save to get into *hax 2.8 requires the 2.8 payload to install because of PASLR)
So uh...using powersaves to put it on the cartridge won't work?
nope. there isnt a 2.8-ready save here. Here's how you can get in, tho:
Get Soundhax installed (the soundhax-usa-n3ds.m4a and the N3DS_U_11272_8203.bin from here renamed to 'otherapp.bin', both on the root of your SD). Use that to get into 2.8 via the stock 3DS Sound app, then use the oothax installer to get the right save on your copy of oot as a backup entrypoint.
Oddly enough that crashes out too.
I think my MicroSD might be bad. I'm gonna see if I can save my Pokemon Moon data before trying out a new SD card.
It was my SD Card. Thanks so much for your help it works!
Where can one find the 2.7 payload to download? I'm having the same problem and think downloading the older payload would be an easier work around for me, I have my OoT cart ready to go, but using it to access the HBL on an 11.2 system isn't working out. I'm trying to dump AC:NL game files and having a terrible time trying to get HBL access. I made my Oot3dhax cart using an old 2ds 10.3 system and put the appropriate files, (ropbin, otherapp and the 2.8 payload) on my new 11.2 system's microSD card but when I run the exploited OoT file I get the same exact bug "Homebrew ropbin is ready" then it exits to the home menu. If I had a physical copy of AC:NL this wouldn't be a problem either, ugh
NEVERMIND, that 3DS sound method is splendid; it worked fine!
I could really use a hand with this if possible. I am using an old 3ds running 11.0.0-33E put the contents of the current starter kit on the 3DS microsd card directly. I used N3DS_E_25600_9221, it works all the way up to when the screen starts to go black and say "Homebrew ropbin is ready" After that it stalls and goes to the home menu and says nothing at all closes the game with no message. I can't seem to get it to finish going to the homebrew menu for some reason.
