Close tabs to the left/right not working after search from omnibox #637

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Define a gesture for close tabs on left/right.
2. Open a few tabs.
3. Do any google search from omnibox (URL bar).
4. Do the gesture for close tabs on left/right.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Tabs should be closed. Nothing happens.

(However after refreshing the page or when searching using search box within 
the page everything works fine)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome: 27.0.1453.110 m; Smooth Gestures 0.17.7; Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
