@QQ951127336 Hi, can you please prefix the title of this issue with : "[Major]" because I believe this issue is important and as there is no reaction from the developers, we don't even know if they are working on it.

r00tdaemon commented 5 years ago

You can still search by package name e.g. com.example.app

sebma commented 5 years ago

@ujjwal96 What can I do when I don't know the exact name of the app. I wish to install ?

r00tdaemon commented 5 years ago

@sebma you can go to play.google.com search for the app. Open the app page and see it in the url. id parameter contains the package name

trymeouteh commented 5 years ago

It was working about a month ago but since I wiped my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and put LineageOS on it, Yalp search does not work. The only way I can get an app is by searching and getting the app in the dropdown search part before you press enter or by using my browser and sharing the app to the Yalp Store app.

Same goes for Aurora Store app which is a similar app to Yalp but with a better UI.

I hope this gets fixed soon. Yalp plays a huge role for LineageOS users since it allows us to get those few Google Play Store apps we like to use.

Patribus commented 5 years ago

Same here. Strange enough, at the same time the same happened with Aurora app installer. Some Infos in this?

Try Aurora v3. Earlier based on Yalp store, v3.0 is a clean & complete rewrite from scratch that follows  Material Design and runs on all devices running Android 5.0 and above: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/galaxy-playstore-alternative-t3739733

Download Aurora 3.0.5: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=275476

Aurora 3.0.5 works well for me

@Nucleo62 Aurora 3.0.5 is able to search for applications but fails to install them on my Galaxy Note 3 (with android v5) :(

@ujjwal96 My mom. won't know how to do that on her smartphone (on which I had installed yalpstore)

BTW : Aurora 3.0.5 is able to search for applications but fails to install them on my Galaxy Note 3 (with android v5) :(

This bug really needs to be fixed.

@sebma - Did you tick the 'Allow Apps from this Source' in the settings?

On Android 9 it popped up and I had to select a toggle to allow Aurora to install apps.

@angela-d My galaxy note 3 is using Android 5 and there's no such popup. Can you please drag'n'drop a screenshot to your next guthub comment ?

Aurora work fine for me too.

I'm on BlackBerry 10 / Android 4.3, so Aurora Store won't do it for me. Will Yalp Store be updated?

Yeriomin seem to be missing since many months... with no activity on Github.

@mikhoul It's already enabled. I've already installed many applications with f-droid, yalp and aurora stores in the past.

Can u be more explicit, what works : Aurora searches or installation of apps with aurora ?

They both work "search" and "installation" ☺️

The app's own installer doesn't work with Android 5. Select "force native installer" in settings.

@lje The "force native installer" works for some apps, but not for apps with split apks which are quite many these days.

I also tried Aefyr/SAI: Android split APKs installer but it does work on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

This issue really needs to be fixed because there's no workaround.

I know - but sind the inbuilt split installer doesn't work at all with Android 5 (at least is does't work for my old S4 on 5.0.1) it's better than nothing.

Yes. But I guess that should be addressed in Aurora's issue tracker and not this dead product here.

@sebma As a heads-up, it's possible to install split APKs with root privileges or ADB, and a terminal emulator.
