Hi,
Thank you for using Practice#.
Glad to see you like it.
As for saving presets - it is quite easy.
Suppose you at one point want to pause and come back later.
Please follow these steps:
1. Pause the play (click the pause button)
2. Click the Save Preset button (Blue Floppy Drive icon on bottom left)
At this point you should see all 4 preset buttons showing a red 'LED' above
them.
Preset buttons are the big buttons to the left of the big bold digit (1, 2, 3
or 4)
3. Click on one of the presets buttons
4. The preset button will blink on and off a few times, and then the system
will open up a dialog box and will ask you for the preset name.
5. Enter some preset name (e.g. 'chapter 5') and click OK
6. The system will save that preset and change its LED color to Green
That's it! the preset is saved.
Now if you just came back from lunch and Practice# was still open, just click
the play button and it will resume.
But, if you closed Practice# and came reopened it later, if you you want to go
back to that same preset - just click on that preset button, and playback would
resume at exactly the same settings (position, speed, equalizer, volume, pitch)
as you were at the time of saving the preset.
Please note that if you save a preset on an existing one you will not get the
dialog to enter the preset name.
But you can rename the preset easily by clicking the number label (e.g. 4) and
then the dialog will pop.
I admit I designed it for Guitar Players - it is very similar with Boss effect
modules. But surely you'll get used to it after a very short while.
Hope this helps,
Please let me know.

I realize that the problem is that I expected the blue floppy drive icon to
be pressed AFTER you made a change to the presets. We are all used to
changing THEN saving the change.
I will adapt.
Still, one question: What is the icon in the bottom left and what does it
do?

Great, so it works for you now.
The bottom left button below the Save Preset button, is the Erase Preset button.
If you press it and hold it down for about a two seconds it will erase the
current preset (i.e. reset it to factory setting). When the preset is erased
the system will blink its LED rapidly.
Glad to see you love the application.
If you'd like to help other people enjoy as well, please publish it in FaceBook
or Google+ etc.
Thank you!

will do, thanks so much.
it really is that good,. I tried everything else and nothing compares for
the purpose I and many others have - a simple MP3 player that has good
speed control.
