Hello there,

Observed behavior

In Markdown view, clicking a link to a section in another note doesn't make editor jump to that section: it opens the target note, however, the editor window stays at the top of the note instead of moving to the target section.

When in Preview, it works correctly (that is, the editor window jumps to the target section).

Expected behavior

In Markdown view, clicking a link to a section in another note brings editor to that section just like it does in Preview.

System description

macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71)

Joplin 2.13.12 (prod, darwin)

Sync Version: 3
Profile Version: 44
Keychain Supported: Yes

Revision: e027cdc

Inline tags: 1.2.1
Note Link System: 0.8.0
Rich Markdown: 0.13.3
Simple Backup: 1.3.5

Additional Comments

With Rich Markdown plugin (and, maybe, similar) the Markdown view already provides a visual preview of the resulting formatting, allowing the user to avoid switching into Preview mode. This problem prevents the user to utilize such workflow effectively when using in combination with Note Link System plugin.

Any updates on this? This feature is great and it is a pity not being able to use it to its best. In my editor it jumps to the right section, but after a couple of seconds it jumps back to the beginning. (btw. thanks for the great plugin :) )

confirmed here - also reproducible what @carlo161 has stated. This seems to be a known issue https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/520
