Ylide Wallet-to-wallet communication bounty for Gitcoin
Challenge Description
A significant share of 36 mln advanced users with non-custodial wallets belongs to a vibrant crypto community. They use digital wallets every day, invest in DeFi protocols for personal finance, identify themselves with NFT avatars, and use DIDs and social graphs for connecting with like-minded frens. However, until recently there we no possibility to reach out to the crypto users having only their addresses. With the Ylide protocol, it has changed.
Ylide is a decentralized protocol for wallet-to-wallet communication that helps developers to create dApps to get crypto users connected having only their blockchain addresses. The protocol supports p2p messages, public and private mass distributions across Everscale and other 15 EVM chains.
In this challenge you are offered to create any product based on Ylide SDK.
Ideas
We have prepared for you a list of ideas that can be built on the basis of Ylide. We do not limit your creativity in any way and will treat all submissions equally.
You can either build your product from scratch or get inspired by the well-known open-source web2 analogues and convert their interfaces into the full-fledged web3 products:
Email client for general purpose communication (ref. Gmail)
Note: we will distribute additional rewards of up to $2,000 in total for mini-products and utilities. Please see the respective subparagraph for more info below. The exact amount of each bounty for utilities will be decided at discretion of the Ylide core team.
Mini-products and utilities
We have allocated $2,000 optional pool for useful mini-products and utilities that can be embedded into other projects of Ylide ecosystem. Also, we do not limit your creativity, but listing the possible solutions below:
Get list of all token holders registered in Ylide: service, that generates the list of addresses registered in Ylide Registry smart contracts by particular token (fungible or non-fungible).
Server-side-messaging: make a backend micro-project that can send messages via Ylide (Everscale and Ethereum). The changes that need to be made to the SDK can be published directly as pull requests on Ylide Github.
Event as a format: make the message format "event" - it is not only displayed in the mailbox in a special way (name, date, time, participants), but the recipient can also add it to the calendar (via .ics, for example).
Fancy QR-code generator for Ylide Mail: make a cute QR-code business card generator (like https://knowtechie.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/knowtechie-instagram-qr-code.jpg) only with the Ylide address. When it is scanned the Ylide Mail is opened with an option to add the respective address to the contacts list or compose a mail directly (you need a mini-tool to generate nice QR + pull requests in our mailbox repo).
Write in Ylide browser extension: make a browser-extension which next to all Everscale/Ethereum addresses draws the "Write to Ylide" icon (provided that the address is registered in Ylide)
Ylide Local: make a CLI utility that can launch hardhat+ever in 1 command, and it will immediately give the addresses of Ylide contracts (registry/mailer)
Submission Requirements
A valid submission will include the source code via a Github repository linked to your Gitcoin submission, a recorded demo, link to the live dApp (if any) and an article that explains how the application works. It is expected that most bounty challenges will be won by fully functioning submissions, however, in certain cases, where there is a higher degree of difficulty, projects and payouts will be assessed on the progress made. The project submission deadline is Nov 28th.
Judging Criteria
Potential Impact: How big of an impact could the project have?
User Experience & Design: Does the design of the project make the user experience easy?
Implementation of the idea: Does the end result demonstrate quality software development and design?
Usage of Ylide’s tools: To what extent are the available standards and tools of Ylide leveraged?
Winner Announcement Date
We will review all submissions very quickly after the end of the hackathon (23:59 UTC 28 Nov) and announce the winners along with the other track owners.
