Please describe the feature you have in mind and explain what the current shortcomings are?
We are still refering to AVALON containers even tho its legacy originating from OP days.
Suggested implementation?
We should...
1) Change its name to something like AYON or just AY instead (altering also its collection color?!)
2) Tidy up its appearence within the blender Outliner by switching on Exclude from View Layer so it wont be misleading for user -as those arent meant for direct interaction but more like a placeholder for AYON metadata -so itmakes sense to disable those so they appear greyed out. It would be best to hide those completely from user POV (truth is ...also been requested already) which is probably not possible in Blender?!
Also by excluding from View Layer it gets more clean and simplified look within the Outliner:
before (with disabled Exclude from View Layer )
and with Exclude from View Layer enabled (nevermind the knob which tells exactly the opposite:)
Obviously much lower visual noise and more clean view for the user...as those children entities dissappeared from the outliner too
Describe alternatives you've considered:
Or just replacing the AVALON for AYON at least? Even tho Im not big fan of this kind of solution myself...
Is there an existing issue for this?
