Auto Sync #8

Does Traktable have some kind of auto sync with iTunes? I've been playing with it but I'm still not sure how's the best way do deal with it. Also, what I really like would be for it to just find new stuff that is now seen and mark it as seen on Trakt without me doing anything.

For now, the only thing I've seen it do is find new stuff after* I click "Import from iTunes"

*after means after it freezes, crashes and restarts again and somehow it eventually shows the new stuff.

Am I doing this wrong?

Which version are you using? The 0.4.x or 0.5 alpha?

0.5 alpha 2

Aha. Yes there are still a lot of bugs in these alpha releases. I'm currently testing alpha 3 and will release it if everything fine in the upcoming days.

The 0.4.4 release is stable and a much better choice if you just don't want to deal with all these issues.

Ok. I always like to test the new and shiny stuff but I guess this time I won't… Do you want me to send some crash logs?

Crash logs are always welcome. 

And to answer your question about the sync times, that differs. 

With iTunes version before 11.1 I can catch a notification which tells me the library is updated. So when you played something on your ATV it takes between 1-20 minutes before it's synced. Depending on the notification. 

Since iTunes 11.1 this notification disapeared and I had had to you another, less reliable one. To make sure it won't take longer then 20 minutes there is also a timer wich triggers the sync every 20 minutes. Plays in iTunes are scrobbled inmediatly after you played a video. 

If you press ALT and click on the menulet with your mouse you can see that there is a "show log" option in the menu. This log can tell you more about the scrobbles. Let me remind you that without proper metadat in your movies and shows scrobbling is impossible.
