It looks like the app is trying to write to a file in the same directory as the
app. In Windows 7, this is seen as a security risk and is protected against -
google for User Access Control (UAC) if you want to know more.
For now, as a workaround, you could try running the app in a folder that
Windows doesn't worry about - such as not under the Program Files folder.
(Other workarounds which would be more overkill would include running the app
as an administrator, or disabling UAC).

Just a note (for others) - this is happening for me too, but using Windows
Vista. I stored the program in the Program Files folder. I get the same error
on start-up. I am resolving by running as admin.
