Icon rendering quality is poor

I’m experiencing it in both ADW, and ADW ex. The icons are not rendering 
cleanly. It looks as if they are being run through some compression, and have 
more jagged edges between fields of color. When I compare the icons placed on 
the screen with ADW, versus ones done by Desktop Visualizer – the difference 
in render quality is quite noticeable.
