This might be an issue that despite surgical tape being removed, multiple checks still refer to limbs being taped up.

Or maybe this is just more of a feedback issue, it shows up on examine, not when you self examine your wounds

There's no upper limit on gauzing a wound, and I think that's meant to be intentional
