How to serialize to maintain lesson order? #33

I was wondering if you had any ideas on how to keep the lessons downloaded in order? I tried to download a course and the course titles were not helpful nor were the creation times. Any thoughts? Appreciate this project though. I'm using it to take my courses offline on my iPad!

The script should be downloading the lessons in order(as what you see on the screen) and the downloaded folders are all numbered with proper title for all sections and lessons. Can I get a screenshot of your lessons and the downloaded folder if they're not matching?

I've tried with a random course from my available courses and it seems to work on my side though, do you face the same problem for other courses? If you face this problem on other courses, is it possible that it's a free course that I can peek into the page? Thanks for your help.

Nevermind, it is working properly! I did not realize they were stored in ./downloads/ I was seeing activity in my ~/Downloads/ folder and that's where I saw the files that were out of order! Thank you anyways for your help!

Upon further inspection, the files never actually make it into the ./downloads/ folder however the folder structure (which would put them in order) is created. My terminal logs show that the course files are being saved to ~/Downloads/youtube-dl/. I've tried a couple courses but don't see any free ones available for you to test. Is there a configuration piece I'm missing perhaps?

@pearlythepirate can you try add this line puts Dir.pwd to lib/utilities.rb below line 12 inside the do block and paste your terminal output here, so that I can inspect on the directory while downloading the files?

Do you have any configuration set for your youtube-dl i.e. -o file template set in your machine? Looks like youtube-dl has automatically downloaded the files to your Downloads folder despite the working directory looks correct.
