IE8 setting makes graph not display properly on a given computer #203

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. This problem only occurs on one computer that I know of.
2. Open internet explorer and browse to graph
3. The graph doesn't display but the mouse-tracking details do

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The graph usually shows up, on other computers that's what happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
flotr r174
Internet Explorer 8
Windows XP Professional

Please provide any additional information below.
The graph in question is a graph I created, in which I added the ability to add
comments to any given point in the graph.

I definitely think the problem has nothing to do with the code but some obscure
setting in Internet Explorer that prevents flotr to work properly, or excanvas
to work properly. The problem is that I haven't found any clue as to what is
wrong. There is no javascript error.

If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

What I tried:
-Enabling every advanced setting related to debugging but no luck there

Things I didn't try yet but might:
-Uninstall Internet Explorer and reinstall...

Just wanted to add that this text appears on the main project page of flotr:
Your version of Internet Explorer is not supported

Could someone tell me what that means?
