Export CSV ready for CSV2IATI conversion tool #81

As a user, I want to download a CSV version of a few projects in a format that I can upload to the CSV2IATI convertor, so that I can experiment with a few activities and scale it up easily.

In the Partos programme, we're promoting AidStream as a tool to experiment with the details of IATI (what can you enter an element, which components does it have).

Even for organisations with dozens or hundreds of activities, this is a useful first step. It would help them move on to bigger data sets if it is easy to download a CSV version that is easy to expand in a spreadsheet programme and then upload in the CSV2IATI conversion tool.

Maybe a separate download format is needed, and maybe a default conversion profile can be made available in the CSV2IATI tool (I haven't made a ticket for that yet).

I wanted to add to this one because we are currently planning to integrate the functionality of the CSV convertor into Aidstream (not least to reduce the number of assets that need supporting etc and given the fact that due to the way that it works the CSV Convertor is actually quite difficult to maintain). The current planning timescale for providing this new feature in Aidstream is first quarter 2015

Therefore given this fact does this requirement still stand? Thanks for any input in advance

Hi Wendy, maybe this is not the best place to discuss: without further info on what that will look like it's hard to tell. But perhaps with transactions via CSV, results via CSV (#94), etc, it makes sense to allow users to upload various bits of information via separate CSV files...
