Alpha .6 Preview and Go Live Panes freeze #162

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go live with 2 or 3 songs in list
2. first song works fine but when you go live to the 2nd song the lyrics do not
change in the lyrics preview panes.
3. If you click on the lyrics shown (song 1 lyrics) the projector shows the
lyrics of the 2nd song correctly but does not update in the lyrics pane

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the lyrics of a new song after going live. Instead I see the lyrics from the
1st song still.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
.6 alpha on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.

I really like the new features in Alpha but this is a major hamper that is
keeping me on .5.4

Thanks for this report - I'm not seeing that behaviour exactly, but sometimes
seeing similar behaviour whereby the live pane doesn't properly update the
selection. Unfortunately this bug appears to be rather hard to track down, but
I'm hoping to get rid of it by changing the problematic component over entirely
for the next Alpha release - hopefully that will sort it. I'll update this
ticket when I make progress on that front.

Hmm, seems this is possibly an FX bug, or something we're doing weird with the
platform thread that means the CSS style isn't always getting applied properly
to the live pane? Needs looking into further, but doesn't appear to be a quick
fix unfortunately.

Hopefully I've now narrowed down and fixed this one - seems like it was a
mistake on how I was clearing the panels that didn't always reset the values
properly. (Fixed in revision 95b1c07d1fb2)

The next Alpha (9) is due for release shortly (in the next few days hopefully)
and this will include this fix. If it doesn't fix it for whatever reason then
feel free to re-open this bug with a sequence of actions that reproduces the
problem reliably (if possible) and I'll look into it!
