Single Screen support #165

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Never really been discussed up until now, but just had an email:

Hello,

sorry, I`m not good in speaking english. Your Worship-Software looks great
and it`s easy to use. But can you add single-screen support? I often use
worship softwar in a small group with only one Notebook-Screen. I turn the
slides with an usb foot switch. A single - screen mode will be very useful.

Can you add it to Quelea?

thanks and greetings

Walter

Perhaps worth considering at some point.

I'm marking this down as low priority because at the present time I think it's
unlikely we'll ever get around to implementing this - the whole UI of Quelea
revolves around a two screen setup and to support this properly we'd need to
make some serious changes, including making the software aware of the order of
songs and supporting USB foot pedals.

We may revisit this in future, but I don't want to get anyone's hopes up!

A SingleScreen Mode can be done like this (in Quelea 2014.1) with the remote
control feature, no need for a usb foot switch (smartphone etc. and
WiFi/Network needed)

Start Quelea
Setup the Projector and ControlScreen to Output 1
Configure the RemoteControl feature
Restart Quelea
Adding all items to the schedule
Minimize the Quelea Main window (now the presentation is shown in full screen)
The items can be controlled via smartphone et

Hi Simon,

Great idea! I can't see us adding single screen support in any other way for
now (Quelea is just inherently too reliant on dual screens in some form to work
properly) so I'll accept this as a fix.
