Russia invaded the Ukraine, yes, but you ignore the fact that Russia was invited to do so. Between 2014 and 2022 the Western installed neo-Nazi dominated Western installed puppet regimes committed a genocide in the Donbas against the ethnic Russian majority, killing 14,000 people. The West, by the public admission of Angela Merkel and François Hollande, cheated Russia with the 2 Minsk accords, using the peace agreements as a subterfuge to prepare their proxy for war.
Between 16 and 22 Feb, 2022, the neo-Nazi dominated Western installed puppet regime increased the shelling of the Donbas from a dozen or so shells/day to over 2000/day!! Russia had to act, fulfill its obligation to stop the genocide.
