What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. ftp - Cant restrict the folder with user account.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
each user apart from admin should have restrict to the particual folder. We
should have rights to change the permission for each user on access restriction.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
RT-N56U_3.0.3.1-027_full.zip

Please describe the problem as detailed as it's possible.
If you have connection problem, then syslog file is required. (please do
attach it as a file)
Note that if there will be a poor problem description the issue status will
be changed to 'Invalid'!

I have installed the latest firmware " RT-N56U_3.0.3.1-027_full.zip " and i am
facing problem in providing restriction to the user through ftp.

all the user have admin rights in the ftp share. Need you to suggest me which
thread/forum need to look for fixing this. or kindly suggest me how to fix this
issue.

thanks

I can't confirm this. When you create a user you can change rights to
access/view folders. Simply check to 'No' all directories you wouldn't like to
be seen and press 'Apply'. I've just created new user and allowed it to view
only one folder at top directory. So it works as it should when I've connected
to server. Only one folder can be read in AiDisk_a1. Have you tried this?

Hi,

yes I have added the user by pressing + sign on the left side and creted
userid and password, but after creating user when i clik the user and check
to find to what are all the folders he has access means it shows to all the
folder read and write, when i try to select the option to NO or to read it
is not valid and its not allowing me to select the radio button. I can show
you the picture how it looks once i reach home.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the link for fixing this ftp issue. My understanding after
reading the link is I need to download "web_ex.c" zip file and need to put
under the path /trunk/user/httpd/web_ex.c in the router is that correct ? or
I need to copy the script and create a file web_ex.c and past it?

please suggest me.

Thanks

Hi Team,

I am eager to know whether the FTP user restriction will be fixed in the coming
release?

I can see under changes tab " httpd: fix disabled FTP/SMB access controls on
shares with LABEL " that means it is fixed and ready for next release?

like I need to restrict the user to access to particular folder instead of
having rights to all the folder in my hard drive through ftp.

kindly let me know

thanks
