Hi Yu-Ting,

Ah it's great to have you also looking at SimpleAnalysis! Yes we just started looking at SimpleAnalysis so this was meant as a rough starting point and I admit I am not completely sure on many things myself!

For the various object definitions, I copied over what looked sensible from other analysis codes they had mostly from EwkTwoLepton2012 and OneLepton2015. I wouldn't worry about these differences too much right now. We'll have to harmonise these with what we're using in our main analysis code, where the Higgsino int note is more up to date.

Re preselection, yes in the main analysis we use baseline leptons to calculate variables where possible. But as we're requiring nLep_base==2 && nLep_signal==2 for SR selection, there's no difference.

For mT2, we use the trial invisible particle mass to be 100 GeV, mainly motivated by sleptons following this reference for example. When the LSP mass of the signal is 100 GeV or similar, the signal has a well defined kinematic feature in mT2 bounded by the slepton-LSP mass splitting we're trying to exploit in our analysis.

Hope that clarifies a few things. Maybe we should open a JIRA to track Higgsino SimpleAnalysis developments.

Best, Jesse
