The same situation with Megafon Moscow (apn=internet, login=gdata,
password=gdata)
It ought to work but it doesn't

Weird issue on South Africa MTN: after creating the APN (internet, login=mymtn,
password=internet), the connection starts, but as soon as the phone switches
from
towers (when you drive and tower handover happens), GPRS connection drops and
does not
reconnect. Restart is the only way to allow reconnection.

Think this is a lighter part of the same problem.

Got it partikal working - i gave a password and username to the apn - same as
the apn "internet" booted, and
then there were GPRS. But only until sleep.

I use Megafon Moscow, APN:internet, login:gdata, password:gdata. GPRS doesn't
start
after APN creation and activation; it starts only after restart. I think it's
not the
way it ought to be.

Does any-one know how to get the GPRS to start up (command or something) once
it
decided to not have the connection any longer?

Get the GPRS to connect once the phone starts, but it often drop the
connection, and
the icon vanishes from the status bar. The only way I get it back is by
restarting.

Ideas?

The problem with gprs falling out is known. See issue #68 .

You can (usually) reconnect by going into airplane mode then back. Failing
that a
reboot is needed.
