Earth MapType on top of other map Control no matter what

Found in Release: trunk r1146

Detailed description:
When switch to earth MapType, my custom Controls no longer show. I think
Google Earth plugin is on the top of there Controls.
In IE MapTypeControl is still showed. In Firefox, MapTypeControl is also
not showed.

Workaround if you have one:
None

I believe this is a limitation of the JS Api or an incompatibility with the 
Earth 
plugin in general.  The next step is to try to reproduce the problem in 
JavaScript 
without using GWT.
