Small discrepancies in free/used memory reported by MenuMeters and Activity Monitor #215

I got an email about this point and indeed they do differ slightly. It doesn't really affect us (because we just want to know the situation qualitatively, not the exact amount of memory available) but it is still somewhat bothersome. I should inspect it when I have time.

In my case the discrepancy is huge on my MacBook Air M1 16G:

MenuMeters shows 8630MB used, while Activity Monitor shows 10.17GB used.
