Meters disappear when I click away #250

I just installed menumeters 2.1.4. Whenever I click away from the app the meters disappear from my menu bar. Is this how it's supposed to behave? Is there anyway to keep them there permanently?

I'm using Big Sur 11.5.1 with an M1 Chip.

They may disappear if there is no place in the bar. So you may click away and switch to another app that has more items in menu bar and no place for menu meters. Check if it is the case.

New MacBook Pro 14" with Max chip -- I believe this has to do with the camera notch. I'm seeing the same behavior as well. Running Monterey 12.0.1.
