The XY coordinates are different from those shown on the Nanonis software when the scan angle is not 0 #38

(English translation) When an sxm file is loaded by SIDAM, the XY coordinates of the wave are different from those shown on the Nanonis software. This problem seems to happen when the angle in the Scan Control of Nanonis is not 0. It would be nice to check the position of the data acquired by Bias spectroscopy in a topograph.

Thanks for pointing out the issue. This is intended behavior.

Since the lateral positions are kept with the XY scalings of the wave, the XY scalings work perfectly when the scan angle is 0 degrees. However, when the scan angle is not 0 degrees, the XY scalings can no longer hold the right positions. Instead, as the next best option, they hold the center coordinate and the size of the scan area.

Using SIDAM of version 9.7.0 or later, you can rotate an image around the center of the image. This would work for your purpose.

In ver. 9.7.1, a caution is shown in the history area when an sxm file or a 3ds file is taken with an angle of non-zero degrees.
