Currently we are using untag parameter to untag all mentioned users since the culture on mastodon is very different from twitter apparently, and we want to play nice and obey the botsin.space rules:
However, eventually, if enough people followed the bot, we could keep those folks tagged if a thread they are participating in gets converted. Especially given the federation model of Mastodon those posts may not be seen otherwise.
