  1. cannot find good indicator of foreign military strength.
  2. created maps of spatial distribution of government and taliban military presence. maps can be found in Data\Stata\maps\PresenceAgg
  3. preliminary regression: how government strength affects IS actions. results can be found in Data\Stata\tables

For foreign military strength, do you use the variable if there is a military camp? Can you actually ask Travers whether he might have better data on foreign military presence that is time varying?

I didnot use variable if there is a military camp as a measure of foreign military strength. Its label is not clear enough so I overlooked it. I will try with this variable.

Actually, in our other paper we now use distance to the nearest military camp (similar to distance to Kabul). I will upload that variable, and we can use it too
