live streaming skips / replays segments #1039

There is no issue with my internet. FiOS using 5ghz wifi. Issue; live streams skip and/or replay segments

To reproduce; open a live stream such as nbc news, and the issue occurs within a minute

This happens on a clean install of your app.

For clarity this doesn't happen on native YouTube and I have found other bug reports with no resolution stating the same issue

I am a heavy user of live streaming feeds, like TV news programmes and live cameras. Unfortunately on Youtube there are some "fake" live streams on some channels - they are really broadcasting "highlights" of a live feed, instead of real live feed. Pretty much like a live radio station. The channel is live, but the content is replayed.

I am watching NBC Morning News Now live for about 15 minutes so far, everything looks allright here...

I found that the issue doesn't happen if I immediately pause the video when it appears before the screen goes black then unpause after the picture reappears. It's a weird issue with the buffer. I don't understand it. But it's not a fake stream as you suggest. Thanks.

I think I'm encountering this. The stream becomes choppy, desynced with the audio, then repeats the same segment of 10 or 15 seconds again. The issue repeats after a minute or so.

That would be the issue. The buffer is sti showing ~30 seconds but it's somehow out of sync and repeats itself over and over with a variable delay in between repeating segments
