In the middle of video playback, the video stops and a Loading screen appears #1222

I have seen this occur in two different households on two different setups.

1 - Amazon Fire Cube attached to 1080P Samsung tv 1 - Google Chromecast (build into MetroNet fiber) attached to 4K Sony Bravia tv

Videos load fine and begin to play. Then at some random point the video stops and the Loading is displayed almost like a watermark. After some amount of time (probably 1-2 minutes), the video resumes from where it paused.

Turning on the Stats for Nerds shows that the incoming network goes from 28 MB to 0 and maintains a flatline as the buffer is emptied. I have some screenshots but they're kind of blurry so I will try to retake and attach them.

In one of the screenshots, it shows the network activity of 0 and a connection speed of 0. Then things straighten out and it shows connection speed of 15,000 Kbps as it ramps back up. It goes from showing a Viewport/Dropped frames of 0 to 95 when playback resumes and the Buffer Health shows 79 seconds.

This behavior does seem to be more isolated to the high quality video, 1080p and 4k. It may be related to the codec as it seems videos using the avc1/mp4a codecs are most often mentioned.

I got the same issue. Sometimes the error appears that the video could not be loaded, but resumes just fine after a few seconds.
