[Bug] Videos keep playing on "Stop playback after one video" #1548

Open f-o opened 2 years ago

f-o commented 2 years ago

This is a bug related to the autoplay feature.

When are watching a video with the "Stop playback after one video" enabled, if you open the overlay and browse "Suggestions", when the video finish playing, it will automatically start playing the next video from Suggestions tab.

Expected behaviour: When "Stop playback after one video" is enabled, and you are browsing the overlay with "Suggestions" "From your recent searches" and "Uploads for channel", the video should pause when it is finished, and not automatically play the next one from suggestions.

1133 I am complaining about this issue since last year....

Still an issue, regardless recent (v.14.93) improvements to the queue. 'Stop playback after one video' still not effective.

Is this a similar problem?

It's a shame the developer does not utilize GItHub Issues. It's a mess in here - 800 open issues.. No wonder your bug report from last year has been unnoticed.

Maybe Telegram is the way to report this instead?

I would not agree to that. Developer has always responded super-fast, everytime there was a critical or serious bug in the app. However is it inconfortable that old, cross update inconvenient bugs (like this one, or #1188 etc) are deprioritised in favor of mostly cosmetic updates..... Sad thing, some of those issues can be related one to another...

P.S. IMHO, from 800+ github issues, barely one third are justified claims. Many are in fact related to YT or device capabilities and not to the STN app, and so much more falls into a topic like [Request][Let's make cofee with STN app]....

That's not the impression I have. I believe any critical bugs are reported in their Telegram group too, which is why they may seemingly be fixed rather swiftly.

Which is exactly why I'm saying it's a mess in here... 800+ open issues, and no way to differentiate what is a bug, what is a feature request, and what is just users being too stupid to figure out what they're complaining about.

There's no way this GitHub repo can work as a place to report bugs or give feature requests, when the Issues tab is so flooded. There needs to be some guidelines, some labels, and some sort of moderation to keep things in check. When finished stuff is implemented, they should also be properly closed by the dev. I don't think any of the 200+ finished issues are closed by anyone other than the person making the issue initially.

Have you actually seen their Telegram yourself? They have threads with proper labels, sorted nicely in channels. There's active talks about the issues, and things are moderated to keep it manageable. If such care was taken here, I'm sure it would look very differently, and bugs like this one would be fixed quickly. But as it stands now, I don't think anything will come from making an issue request in this repo here on GitHub.

I totally agree with you @f-o . Mostly, yes, I have assumed this is also on Telegram, but I was not aware there is such difference in response. I am not a Telegram user, I only watch this Telegram channel's web page for related info on updates.

I don't know how effective is the reporting of issues on Telegram also, it does not look like very much. There are still already a lot of bugs and issues that became permanent in the application, for half a year at least. Tried making a list here #1504, but they are still ignored. This will eventually affect the consistency of the app, it's the developer choice finally if this project looks and behaves faulty. Like many others, I was always in good faith spending time and trying to contribute to a better app in the single way we can at this time. Reporting in Github. Too bad it is ignored.
