Why no samsung smart tv #1598

Why doesn't this fantastic software have a release file for Samsung Tizen tv? In my opinion, it should have a release file for all smart tv's out there

You have to either get a android tv box or fire tv stick to get stn beta

Samsung uses his own proprietary OS called Tizen, it is NOT android based nor anything like that, so pretty much STN would have to be ported to Tizen for it to work.

There used to be OpenMobile's Application Compatibility Layer (ACL) which would run Android aps on Tizen but it was removed from the Tizen store (which was also closed as Samsung Phones using Tizen OS were dropped by the company) and I would recommend not trying the files you might see floating around when you do a search for it.

Tizen is a completely different OS than Android. You'll be better off using an external android box as the smart piece of your setup, and dumb down the TV to be only a good display.

I'll dig up this topic. Besides the fact that converting from Java to C/C++ is cumbersome, have you encountered any other obstacles? I'd like to try tackling this challenge in my spare time, but I wouldn't want to dive into something that the creators have already analyzed and found to be impossible. I'm guessing it will take me several weeks, but it seems like an interesting case for self-development.
