The last 4 videos would not play, it will go to black screen.
Version: 18.28
Not sure if it has anything to do with google testing blocking ad-blockers.
Just an Update. This issue occurs on Nvidia Shield device, but works fine on Firestick.
Updated to 18.50 but issue persist on Nvidia Shield, works fine on Firestick
Same issue. started today. On Fire Stick MAX. all videos result is short buffer then black screen. seems like this GHi is not monitored by dev(s)? anyone find a resolution? im on latest version. Thanks
I had the same issue on Fire Stick MAX. For me, the issue is intermittent. It happens with about 50% of the videos I try to play. Sometimes closing the app and re-opening temporarily fixes it. I've also see changing video presets temporarily fix it.
I started to see it with 18.92 stable. I tried downgrading to 18.27 stable, and then I tried the 19.03 Beta. All versions show the same problem.
EDIT: In my case, the problem seems to have been caused by IPv6. I have not noticed IPv6 connectivity issues on other devices, but after I disabled IPv6 at my router & restarted my fire sticks, all buffering issues ceased. I wonder if there might be a way to be more robust, and to try the IPv4 URL if the IPv6 version is buffering, or otherwise unreachable.
I use a 4K FireTV stick, and I have the same problems caused by IPv6. I wish I could turn off IPv6 in the app. I can block it to FireTV devices, but it works fine on other IPv6 apps.
I have an update. I'm very certain it was my IPv6 causing the problem. But some good news and bad news, depending how you look at it. IPv6 allows you to set device IP addresses two ways, SLAAC and DHCPv6 Stateful configuration. (There is DHCPv6 stateless, but that does set IP addresses.). The Fire TV stick does support SLAAC, where it creates its own IP address, BUT it doesn't seem to support DHCPv6 stateful which is what I am using now. So IPv6 disappears and it works again. So if you have a choice, use that. All my computers, tablets, etc. support it, but not things like Fire TVs, which don't fully work on IPv6 anyway.
Title: Bug Report: Smart Tube Application - Black Screen and Buffering Issue
Description:
Hello everyone,
I wanted to bring your attention to a bug that I encountered while using the Smart Tube application. When I open the application for the first time, the videos do not start playing, instead, I am presented with a black screen. Despite having a stable internet connection, the videos continue buffering repeatedly without playing.
Steps to Reproduce:
Expected Behavior:
Upon opening the Smart Tube application, videos should start playing smoothly without any buffering issues, given a stable internet connection.
Actual Behavior:
Instead, the application displays a black screen and continuously buffers the video content, preventing playback.
Additional Information:
This bug significantly hampers the user experience, as it prevents seamless video playback upon opening the application. I hope that the development team can look into this matter and resolve it as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you require any additional information or if there is anything I can do to assist in resolving this issue.
Thank you.
Best regards, soumik bose
