It happens to all low view videos. What happens is, when someone clicks on a video, that video is then cached by your ISPs servers. So when you click on a low view video, chances are, you're the first person with your ISP to view it and so it takes a moment to cache and forward the data.

I understand however as mentioned, when i switch to the regular youtube, the video loads directly. Then when moving back to SmartTube, the same video will still buffer despite being fully viewed on normal youtube.

Weird. Sounds like SmartTube is still trying to buffer the uncached video. Have you tried with "force stop" SmartTube under installed app settings and launching it again?
Version : 19.63 Device : Sony X90H Internet speed : 500 MBPS PROBLEM: Heavy buffering on less popular videos. When I switch to normal YouTube app it plays directly. Go back to SmartTube, buffer on that specific video.
