2 months ago I thought of trying that. I can get three months free. Never thought of using a virtual credit card though. :-)
Edit - Add payment method to Google. Get your free trail of youtube premium. Then delete payment method from Google. No worries about forgetting when the trail ends. Getting a virtual card in the U.K is a mine field..

2 months ago Nice try, Youtube! I actually get a 403 response attempting to sign up for a trial to test this workaround as well.
Edit: Used Firefox to complete the signup instead of Brave (yes, I turned off the shields). I can confirm that after signing into Smart Tube again (I tested a few releases) that this workaround works.. around.

1 month ago I just want to add that i have premium, i use SmartTube for SponsorBlock and DeArrow, and i have not been getting 403's but i get random black screens for 5 or so seconds which started around the same time, so i'm not sure premium fixes the issue fully, and yes i'm aware a new version supposedly fixes the issue, just saying my experience with Premium

I've been getting the 403 error like so many other people are. I assume this is Google messing around with things, so I figured I'd sign up for the 3 month free trial of Youtube Premium to tide me over until the dust settles with STN. I used a virtual card number with a $5 limit in case I forget to cancel it before the trial ends.
While I was going through the signup on my PC, I had the 403 error looping on my TV. At the exact moment that I completed the Premium signup, the video on the TV started playing. I tested several videos in STN, and they're all playing fine now. It's hardly a suitable solution, but it will keep me free of ads while still using STN until the 403 issue is sorted out.
