[BUG]: Video player is slightly cropped #3826

Open Submitten1 opened 1 month ago

Checklist

Affected version

23.03

Device Type

Smart TV/Box

Affected Android

Android tv 9

Steps to reproduce the bug

The video player is very slightly zoomed in causing the edges to be cropped. I have tried all zoom settings of 100%, auto, fit width, fit height, and stretch and they are all the same. Setting it to 99% reveals the full content but it is now surrounded by a black border. It’s as if the default zoom is 100.5%

Example is this video on the left side has some letters cropped off. This is not the case when set to 99% or viewed on official app.

I found that AFR Auto Frame Rate was the culprit of this.

Go into settings.

Untick these boxes in Auto frame rate settings.

Auto Frame Rate 🔲 Switch Resolution 🔲 Fix FPS ✅ Double Refresh rate ✅ Skip 24fps 🔲 Skip shorts 🔲

I believe it was Switch resolution changing video sizes. But turning it off resolved it.

Thanks. My settings were already set to as you described. However toggling auto frame rate on (and also off) solved my issue. So it’s potentially related, but not necessarily down to the exact setting.

No problem glad it resolved it for you hopefully others too. Who end up with the same issue of videos borders exceeding the boundaries of the video players box.

This bug did return and cycling AFR didn’t initially help until a restart. I did notice a thicker border on the right hand side, like the image was shifted to the left.

Very strange.
