Version 10.141 Limited to 10Mbps #556

Just as the title says, SmartTubeNext version 10.141 is limited to 10Mbps. This makes watching 4k content impossible except on the lower frame rate content. I have troubleshooted the problem down to SmartTubeNext itself.

My system = NVIDIA Shield Pro (2019 model.)

Is there any fixes/workarounds for this problem?

this would explain why 4k 60 gives me buffer trouble on stubenext. i thought it maybe isnt as optimized but that sounds like an ecplaination!

It doesn't always happen as well, sometimes it will stream at over 10Mbps. But, I can see this topic is not going to be answered by the devs, just like my other concerns about the program...

i think they read stuff here and prioritize and update things in their own time. posting it can't hurt 🤷

Don't worry, considering the recent submits, the dev is surely working on this issue.

I took this as a reason to move to the stable release channel (SmartTube Next with a red icon, as opposed to SmartTubeNext with a blue icon). I used Aptoide to install 10.135.

Hi all

I have just updated to version 11, but there is still stuttering when playing 4k60 sometimes 1080p60 videos :( Has 10 mbit limitation been addressed in the update or are you working on it?

The problem of videos not loading quickly/properly has in recent weeks become worse. About 15% or so of YouTube videos are affected; now not only 4K videos. It's affecting videos of all resolution. I have supplied a pic of a video that is loading very slowly with the video information button ON, just in case it might help figure out what the issues are: https://imgur.com/a/yRs8isg

Time to go back to regular YouTube because the % of videos not loading is about 90% now.

Everything works and plays great over here (Sony KD-65XF9005 4K)

Same here, working perfectly on Fire TV 2nd gen.
