And when it uses vp9, the color is always messed up. Can you force it to avc codec for 1080 main and alt ? I'm running 6.17.45

yuliskov commented 5 years ago

As I know codec could be selected under the video.

Hi, thanks for the prompt response. I'm running Smart Youtube on Mi TV3 and it is always laggy when I use 4K (both main and alt), therefore I use 1080 option. Unfortunately with recent releases, it will automatically pick vp9 codec (I check it from stat for nerds) and causes the color messed up.

Please tell me how to change vp9 to avc codec when using 1080 option, I cannot find where.

Thanks before.

Hi, I tried to play other videos on youtube, the codec option is appeared and I can choose AVC. Unfortunately the color is still broken, and when I check the stat for nerds, it still shows VP9 instead of AVC. Both 1080 main and alt.

I've added forcing codec option to tweaks. https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartYouTubeTV/releases/download/6.17.47/SYTV_Orig_v6.17.47_r.apk

@nicholasbd what about Pro launchers? Do you have a problems there too?

nicholasbd commented 5 years ago

I've updated to 6.17.47, and activate force AVC codec, this is the result: LITE main and alt: color is stil broken, stat for nerds still shows VP9 instead of AVC. PRO: has no problem with color, by default codec is AVC, but laggy, with this update the lagginess is getting better (improvement) but it is still laggy compared to LITE.

All videos for test are 1080p with 30 fps, some 24 fps.
