No microphone and no recent updates #602

I am not sure if something is wrong with my app as I have not been given the option to update for days and it used to be everytime I turned it on. Secondly, there is no microphone/speech button on the search screen and it is unable to perform microphone seraches when i access it else. I am unable to save videos. Lastly, everytime i leave the appp its asking me to exit.

These are all things i do not remember ever experiencing.

The most recent smart version is 697, recent beta is702. You only get the update screen when function is checked on in the app settings AND if there is an update available of course. I have the voice/speech search button in the UI as well as on the specific search screen. Also saving works here and the app exit works as it always did. In the app settings you can check the option to long press the back button of your remote control to exit the app without the question.

i just reset my app, uninstalled, reinstalled latest stable release. I still do not have a microphone when i go to 'search'. when i hit pause on a video, when i am on the video interface, i see the microphone. However wehn i try to use it, i get a loading page. The current state of the app is very dysfunctional. when i exit out of app i have to hit back button twice or else i stay on black screen.

I am experiencing the same symptoms as BrettAllen on an Amazon Fire TV Cube. My microphone search disappeared a couple of days ago. I haven’t been prompted to update in a while so I uninstalled the app completely and reinstalled the latest release. Still no microphone search, also get the prompt to confirm exit which wasn’t the behavior previously. I uninstalled again and tried installing the beta in hopes that microphone search would be restored, but still no microphone search in the beta either. Something is definitely broken with my setup... I do not own any other streaming devices to test if this is a very specific issue with the Fire TV cube or something more broad.

I am on a shield, so it is not the device.

You will find this odd, but the problems go away when I VPN and select another location. I am based in California and no matter what I try the app will continue to have the usability problems you mentioned unless I select a non-California location (Chicago, New York, Germany, etc. all work). To double confirm, I selected California VPN servers like Los Angeles and San Francisco and the app immediately loses microphone search again, and shows a "loading" screen when you hit the back button, the exit prompt, all the weird problems...

Go figure.
